Alshaima Alshayeb is a distinguished civil engineer and the founder of the Women Engineering Society in Saudi Arabia, with over 10 years of experience in project management and sustainable development. She holds a Master of Engineering in Concrete Technology from the University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor of Engineering in Structural Engineering.
Currently serving as a Project Sustainability Officer at the National Housing Company, Alshaima leads initiatives that align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, focusing on sustainable infrastructure and community development. Her leadership was instrumental in achieving the first Gold-level Mostadam Community Certificate in the country.
Alshaima is passionate about promoting diversity in engineering and empowering women to take on leadership roles within the industry. She has received several accolades, including the Outstanding Engineer Award from the Saudi Council of Engineers and the Arab Creativity Women's Award from the Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt.
In addition to her professional achievements, Alshaima is committed to continuous learning and development, having participated in various sustainability programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She is also an advocate for community engagement and knowledge-sharing, believing that collaboration is key to driving progress in engineering.
Fluent in Arabic and English, with intermediate proficiency in French, Alshaima actively contributes to various professional organizations, including the Saudi Sustainability Professionals and the Urban Heritage Association. Her dedication to excellence and innovation continues to inspire the next generation of engineers.
