As the Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Hanny is responsible for leading PMI’s regional strategy and growth. His experience in aligning operations with global educational objectives and engaging with top-tier educational and government leaders ensures driving high-value initiatives and building strong relationships within PMI and across the region. Hanny brings over 25 years of extensive global experience in the education industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership in strategy development and driving transformative growth through innovation across various international markets. Prior to joining PMI, he held leadership roles at D2L, Blackboard, and most recently Ellucian, as Vice President for the Middle East and Africa.

 

Being a regular speaker at multiple conferences worldwide, Hanny is also well known for his interactive keynote presentations on education and educational technologies. He actively contributes to the online education field, including through participation on various advisory boards, speaking engagements, and serving as an External Mentor at Ajman University Innovation Center (AUIC). Over the course of his career, Hanny has been a recipient of several international awards, the most recent being the Distinguished Alumni Award from Athabasca University in Canada, where he received his Master of Education and Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education and Technology. During the ceremony, Hanny was also honored by being added to the Nova Scotia Legislature for his career achievements. Additionally, Hanny holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science with a focus on Business Administration from Dalhousie University in Canada.
