Head of IT PMO at SIJ d.d. and PMI Slovenia
Marko holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master's degree in Business Administration, and he is PMP certified. For his master's thesis, he was honoured with the prestigious Prešeren Award, Slovenia's highest recognition for student achievements. In the 14th generation of AmCham Young Professionals, he was elected as the Connector of the Generation. In February 2024, Marko will start Executive MBA study at one of the most prestige schools in region.
His career began as a mechanical engineer, designing machines for the production of mineral wool. Then he transitioned into a role as an R&D project manager. This led to a position in the construction industry, where he managed projects for the construction of petrol and gas stations. Later, I shifted into the IT sector, where he oversaw software implementation projects for insurance companies. Currently, he serves as the Head of IT PMO at SIJ d.d., one of Slovenia’s largest companies.
Since 2018, Marko has been an active volunteer with PMI Slovenia. After progressing through various roles, including Vice President for Education & Certifications, he now serve as the President of the chapter. Additionally, he is a member of the board of AmCham Slovenia's Young Leaders Club.
